The material using NANOALOY™ technology shows characteristics of plastic with strength and rigidity under normal conditions. In the test, it expressed unique property of changing its shape like rubber and absorbing shock when subject to external force such as strong and swift shock as in a crash, which defies the conventional wisdom of existing polymers.

The Charpy impact resistance test for a conventional cylindrical CFRP broke into two pieces, while CFRP applied NANOALLOY™ technology* did not fracture completely due to its high impact absorption characteristics.

* The CFRP is fabricated from TORAYCA™ prepreg impregnated with impact resistance thermosetting resin that applies NANOALLOY™ technology.

Comparison of PBT/PC resin in high speed impact test 
Nano-co-continuous alloy resin, which consists of PBT and PC resin, has a specific structure.
The resin is expected to be new material which has excellent impact resistance which is the feature of PC resin and chemical resistance which is the feature of PBT resin.
This alloy resin achieved excellent impact resistance which conventional material could not achieve. It started to be used for collision energy absorption parts for automobiles.
